Exploring the centre of the Milky Way

A TV crew producing a documentary for the BBC programme “Horizon” visited Paranal on 24–27 May, 2011, to learn more about the new frontiers explored with the Very Large Telescope. In the picture, a visiting astronomer at the VLT control console explains his research on black holes.
