Unit Telescope 1 altitude bearings

A side view of one of the two large altitude bearings on the UT1. Now that they are completed, the light collected by the telescope passes through the opening to one of the instruments at the Nasmyth platform. Beyond the bearing is seen the massive centre piece, which supports the tube structure and the 9-m top ring.
