North Meets South (360 Degrees)
Both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere are captured at once in this mind-bending image. The top half is a photo taken at the IAC Observatory in La Palma in the Canary Islands, 29 degrees north of the equator, whilst the bottom half is a photo taken at ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile’s Atacama Desert, 29 degrees south of the equator. When digitally stitched together they create a continuous sweeping view of the night’s sky.
