A galactic collision in the constellation of Aquarius
This chart shows the location of the galactic merger NGC 7252, known as Atoms-for-Peace, within the constellation of Aquarius (the Water Bearer). This map shows most of the stars visible to the unaided eye under good conditions and NGC 7252 itself is marked as a red oval in a circle near the bottom. This curious object is faintly visible in moderate-sized amateur telescopes.
