Band 2 receiver lens

This image is in two parts, split vertically down the centre: on the left there is a Band 2 receiver, and on the right a closeup of the optic lens. On the left is a blue and circular metal panel, surrounded by a grey circular structure. On the blue panel, a number of devices are fitted. Surrounding one of them is a superimposed yellow box, with two lines expanding to the right-hand image. The right hand image is a closeup of what is in the yellow box on the left: it is the warm optics lens of the Band 2 receiver. Circular in shape, the lens is white in the centre and is surrounded by a metal frame, fitted in place with bolts around its circumference.

This image shows a part of the Band 2 receiver on the Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimetre Array (ALMA), the warm optics lens. Band 2 receivers pick up signals from the Universe with frequencies between 67 and 116 GHz.
