Moon, Venus and the Milky Way
The Moon and Venus shining brightly in the crystal-clear skies of Cerro Paranal, home to ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT). Below them, the radiant, reddish plane of the Milky Way smoulders on the horizon, with massive bands of dust giving this bright region a mottled complexion.
