VLT & Hubble views of the 244-440 young stellar object
These are two different views of the young stellar object 244-440 in the Orion Nebula, observed with ESO’s Very Large Telescope (left) and Hubble (right). The VLT image was obtained with the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) instrument. Thanks to the VLT’s adaptive optics facility, which corrects the blur caused by atmospheric turbulence, this is the sharpest image ever taken of this object.
