Installation of the M2 unit
The final phases of the assembly work on the first VLT 8.2-m Unit Telescope (UT1) at Paranal. The M2 Unit, on the telescope floor and protected in its handling device, is ready to be lifted to the Nasmyth platform. (Photo obtained on March 10, 1998).
