An asteroid with a tail?
Discovery image of P/1997 T3, obtained on October 1, 1997, with the 1-metre ESO Schmidt telescope at the La Silla observatory in the Chilean Atacama desert. The object is seen as a small straight and sharp "asteroidal trail" (in 4 o`clock orientation) on the lower right side of the strong white line in the middle of the field, directly opposite the white dot (these marks were placed in order to mark the position of the new object on the film).
