ESA Test-Bed Telescope to be sited at La Silla

Under a cooperation agreement between ESO and ESA, ESA will site a Test-Bed Telescope similar to the one shown here at ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile.Taking advantage of the world-class observing conditions there, the telescope will pave the way for an autonomous optical sensor network which will detect and track an extensive list of near-Earth objects, such as asteroids.
