Night sky at La Silla
ESO's La Silla Observatory is the home to ground breaking technology and research. To achieve such optimal observing conditions, the site is very isolated at the outskirts of the Chilean Atacama Desert. This distinctive panorama has been extended from equirectangular with blacks to 360 x 180 degrees. It shows the La Silla site, with the stunning detail of the stars splashed across the sky.
