Assembly of the ESO 1-metre telescope
In the late 1960’s, staff at the new La Silla Observatory in Chile were busy assembling its first telescope, the ESO 1-metre telescope. Since then, La Silla has been a constant force in ground-based optical and infrared astronomy.
