Mounted image 020: Milky Way over Paranal

The Milky Way gleams over Paranal, site of ESO’s Very Large Telescope. Two of the 1.8-metre Auxiliary Telescopes with their round covers are visible in the ­distance, as well as the Very Large Telescope Interferometer laboratory. ­ Looming in the foreground are two of the 8.2‑metre Unit Telescopes.
