Under Residencia's dome

The recognisable dome of ESO's Paranal Residencia looms over an oasis, protected from the harsh external conditions. Located in the unforgiving Atacama Desert of northern Chile, the Residencia provides a relaxing environment for astronomers and support staff that come to visit and use the telescopes at ESO's Paranal Observatory.
