Dr. Catherine Cesarsky, the new President Elect of the IAU, and Prof. Ron Ekers, the new President, in front of the ESO stand at the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union in Sydney. Catherine Cesarsky was the Director General of ESO from 1999 until 2007.
