The Paranal Residencia
Aerial view of the Paranal Observatory. Below the observing platform at the top of the mountain — at a distance of about 3 km — is the Base Camp with the technical area (to the right of the road) and the new Residencia building (left of the road). To the extreme left is a temporary container camp of the construction company.
