3D rendering of the ELT's MICADO instrument

The Multi-AO Imaging Camera for Deep Observations (MICADO) is the powerful high-resolution camera for ESO’s upcoming Extremely Large Telescope. Once complete, MICADO will offer astronomers the ability to take images of the Universe at an unprecedented depth. The image shows an artist's 3D view of MICADO based on an engineering rendering, with two people shown for scale. The instrument will have a height of six metres and weigh no less than 20 tonnes.
