Acercamiento a la imagen de la Nebulosa de la Laguna (Messier 8) tomada por VISTA

Esta secuencia de acercamiento empieza con una visión amplia de las espectaculares regiones centrales de la Vía Láctea. A medida que hacemos un zoom, la prominente mancha roja de la Nebulosa de la Laguna aparece. Primero vemos una detallada imagen en luz visible tomada por el Wide Field Imager del telescopio MPG/ESO de 2,2 metros en La Silla, en la IV Región de Chile, y luego la nueva imagen infrarroja tomada por el telescopio VISTA en Paranal, II Región de Chile.
