Thermal radiation
Thermal radiation is electromagnetic radiation emitted by matter as a result of the random motions of the particles that comprise it. It is associated with the idea of temperature, and matter at absolute zero temperature would emit no thermal radiation. Sunlight is thermal radiation. Other physical processes produce electromagnetic radiation with a different characteristic form, for example synchrotron radiation.
