A towering VLT Unit Telescope
One of the VLT Unit Telescope enclosures makes an impressive sight on the observing platform on the summit of Cerro Paranal, seen here at night. Inside this building is one of the VLT's four giant 8.2-metre telescopes. Another is seen in the background.
