Wide-field view of the sky around the remote cluster CL J1449+0856
This visible light wide-field image of the region around the most remote mature galaxy cluster yet found was created from photographs taken through red and blue filters and forming part of the Digitized Sky Survey 2. The cluster lies at the centre of the picture but is too faint to be seen. The field of view is approximately 2.8 degrees across.
