Artists Impression of Accreting Black Hole
A fulldome (fish-eye) view showing an artist’s conception of a black hole with an accretion disc. It shows how material from the disc spirals inwards before being swallowed by the black hole in the centre. The central object is so heavy that not even light can escape, therefore, the material simply disappears as it falls onto the black hole.
