Pieces of the ELT’s M1 cell
This image shows pieces of the support cell that will one day hold the primary mirror, M1, of ESO’s Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), currently under construction on Cerro Armazones in the Chilean Atacama Desert. This white lattice structure has now been moved inside of the ELT’s dome, as shown by the recent drone images from July 2024 linked below.
