Distant time-lapse of Paranal

As night falls the beauty of our Universe is revealed. Cerro Paranal can be seen in the distance to the right where the VLT platform addresses the challenges of our cosmos. In the centre of the frame we see the Large Magellanic Cloud glowing radiantly above, the Milky Way to the left. Lots of meteors can be seen to streak across the sky, all captured in this time-lapse during the ESO Ultra High Definition Expedition.
