VLT Unit Telescopes observing a comet
Two of the four Unit Telescopes of ESO’s Very Large Telescope at Paranal Observatory (front: UT2, center: UT3) observing comet 46P/Wirtanen (the turquoise spot in the sky). The comet was being observed simultaneously with the UVES and ESPRESSO spectographs to decipher its chemical makeup.
