Omega Centauri with the NTT
Four views of Omega Centauri, the largest and most luminous globular cluster in the Milky Way Galaxy. The images, obtained in 1994, come courtesy of ESO's 3.6-metre New Technology Telescope (NTT) at the La Silla Observatory in Chile. The images demonstrate the improvement in spatial resolution (number given in brackets) reached with the active mirror technology of the NTT.
