Towering telescopes
A 8.2-metre VLT Unit Telescope towers over a 1.8-metre Auxiliary Telescope in this spectacular sunset shot from the Paranal Observatory in northern Chile.
The enclosure for each Unit Telescope is 25-metres high, approximately the same height as an eight-story building.
