a) $DATE is read from the input AB
c) frames are implicitly read from the AB.

ALGORITHM Description of algorithms:
Data are taken on the full detector
Bad pixel and gain map are generated for the full detector.
A mask is then used to check the badpixels and calculate the gain only on the science outputs.
