Fulldome view of stars orbiting the black hole at the heart of the Milky Way
This fulldome clip shows the orbits of stars close to the supermassive black hole at the centre of the Milky Way. The data for these orbits have been measured over 26 years by ESO's telescopes by an international team led by Reinhard Genzel of the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) in Garching, Germany, in conjunction with collaborators around the world.
