Auxiliary Telescopes on Paranal platform

Three of the four Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) standing under a crispy blue Chilean sky at ESO's Paranal Observatory. Visible in this picture are their characteristic round enclosures, made from two sets of three segments, which open and close to protect the delicate 1.8m diameter telescope from the harsh conditions of the Atacama desert.
