The 4.1 m diameter VISTA main mirror
The 4.1 m diameter VISTA main mirror. The large central hole accommodates the huge VISTA infrared camera. This image was taken after the mirror had been stripped and recoated in 3-layer protected silver (NiCr-Ag-NiCr) on 12 September 2009.
