ALMA antennas panorama

A panoramic view of ALMA antennas on the Chajnantor Plateau. The Plateau, located 5000 metres above sea level, provides an ideal environment for ALMA's observations of the universe at millimetre- and submillimetre-wavelengths.

At the centre of the panorama, two workmen — dwarfed by the 12-metre dishes of the antennas — can be seen performing routine inspections.
