Armazones and an Auxiliary Telescope
One of the four 1.8-metre Auxiliary Telescopes atop Cerro Paranal admires Cerro Armazones — the future home of the ESO Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). An access road, whose acute turns can be seen etched into the mountainside, lead to the flattened mountaintop upon which the ELT will perform revolutionary observations of the cosmos.
