Models of brown dwarf disks (artist’s impression)
Illustration showing current models for Brown Dwarf discs. The new measurements show that this object has a flat, dense disk (lower diagramme), unlike the hotter (solar-like), young stars, that harbour "flared" disks with a diluted, very hot top layer (upper diagramme).
