Little planet panorama of ESO Headquarters

This little planet panorama concentrates in one image the scientific, technical and administrative centre of ESO, in Garching, near Munich. ESO Headquarters are framed by a crane that is working on the construction of the ESO Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre. The photographer, Petr Horálek, took this unusual picture on 11 February 2016, when the discovery of gravitational waves by LIGO was announced, to mark the importance of the day in the history of science.
