ALMA Residencia — pool

The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) has been observing since 2011, but up to now the astronomers, engineers and technicians working at the site have had to live in temporary containers located at the facility’s basecamp. This situation has been resolved with the construction of the new ALMA Residencia.

This image shows the building's pool, where ALMA workers can relax and unwind, or cool off from the Chilean heat.
