The 111th Observing Programmes Committee (OPC) met online during November 2022. Based on the committee's recommendations to the ESO Director General, a total of 944 (10-hour equivalent) nights of (Designated) Visitor Mode and Service Mode observations were allocated on the VLT/VLTI, the 3.6-metre, and NTT telescopes. The submission deadline for Phase 2 Service Mode observations is Thursday, 2 March 2023; see the separate announcement for further details.

On the VLT, the balance between Visitor and Service Mode in Period 111 was about 14/86, excluding filler programmes. Large Programmes on the VLT occupy about 7% of the allocation. The time committed to Large Programmes on the 3.6-metre is 39%, while there are currently no Large Programmes on the NTT.

The outcome of the time allocation was communicated to the Principal Investigators of proposals submitted for Period 111 on Wednesday 1 February, 2023 and can be accessed directly in P1 as of Period 110. The new interface allows users to give feedback on the quality of received comments from the expert panels or DPR reviewers.
