The 104th Observing Programmes Committee (OPC) met on 14-16 May 2019. Based on the committee's recommendations to the ESO Director General, a total of 1248 (8-hour equivalent) nights of Visitor Mode and Service Mode observations were allocated on the VLT/VLTI, VISTA, VST, the 3.6-metre and NTT, and APEX telescopes. The submission deadline for Phase 2 Service Mode observations is Thursday 1 August, 2019; see the separate announcement for further details.
Period 104 Telescope Allocation

On the VLT, the balance between Visitor and Service Mode in Period 104 was about 23/77, excluding filler programmes. New and ongoing Large Programmes on the VLT occupy about 19% of the allocation. The time committed to Large Programmes on the 3.6-metre and NTT is 72% and 39%, respectively.
The outcome of the time allocation was communicated to the Principal Investigators of proposals submitted for Period 104 on Thursday 4 July, 2019.
