The 102nd Observing Programmes Committee (OPC) met on 22-24 May 2018. A total of 1174 (8-hour equivalent) nights of Visitor Mode and Service Mode observations were allocated on the VLT/VLTIVISTAVST, the 3.6-metre and NTT, and APEX telescopes. The submission deadline for Phase 2 Service Mode observations is 2 August 2018; see the separate announcement for further details.

On the VLT, the balance between Visitor and Service Mode in Period 102 was about 30/70, excluding filler programmes. New and ongoing Large Programmes on the VLT occupy about 8% of the allocation. The time committed to Large Programmes on the 3.6-metre and NTT is 47% and 38%, respectively.

The outcome of the time allocation was communicated to the Principal Investigators of proposals submitted for Period 102 on Wednesday 4 July, 2018.
