This plot
Median RON (read-out noise) as measured with dark exposures.
The RON of the KMOS detectors depends on the used DIT: longer integration times have lower RON.
We display here the values measured from the most commonly taken dark exposures with 60s DITs
vs. times and the correlation of RON with DIT.
During the first two commissionings, measured RON values were significantly smaller than those measured
during the following commissionings (March 2013 and later) and during normal operations (starting October 2013).
Therefore, two separate data sets can be seen in the correlation plots.

The latest date is indicated on top of the plot.
If configured,
- data points belonging to the latest date are specially marked
- statistical averages are indicated by a solid line, and thresholds by broken lines
- outliers are marked by a red asterisk. They are defined as data points outside the
threshold lines
- "aliens" (= data points outside the plot Y limits) are marked by a red arrow (↑ or ↓)
- you can download the data for each parameter set if the 'Data downloads' link shows up
