The goal of the observing programme 0113.C-2186(A), PI A. Stavros, is to better understand the Low-Ionization Structures (LISs) commonly found in Planetary Nebulae (PNe). This project uses X-SHOOTER to obtain the first UV-to-NIR spectra from a sample of 12 LISs with different shapes and types in 9 PNe with a variety of morphologies, ages and stellar parameters.

This data release provides FLAMES/UVES spectra observed as part of the ESO programme 112.25ES.001 (PI: P. Kervella) with the main scientific goal of estimating interstellar extinction of 16 Galactic Cepheid variable stars. For this purpose, neighbouring field stars of the Cepheids were observed, queried from the Gaia Data Release 3 catalog, with the FLAMES multi-object spectrograph. The instrument setup was such that, on average, 115 field stars were observed with the GIRAFFE spectrograph in MEDUSA mode and 2-7 field stars with the UVES spectrograph in the Red Arm mode. This release covers only the UVES data, as the ESO automatic reduction process covered the GIRAFFE spectra, which are available for download from the ESO Science Portal. The fibers fed to UVES have a diameter of 1 arcsec, and the cross-dispersed echelle spectroscopy provides a spectral resolving power of R=47,000.

Betelgeuse is the most studied Red Super Giant. In 2024, through a reinterpretation of its long secondary period (LSP), a close orbiting stellar companion was suggested to exist, with a maximum elongation in December 2024. The goal was to search for this secondary component.

The first Phase 3 data release from the INSPIRING ESO Large Programme (ID: 1103.D-0797) is now available through the ESO Science Archive. This release provides fully reduced and calibrated VLTI/PIONIER observations obtained in the GRISM_H mode for eight post-AGB binary systems. The INSPIRING programme uses VLTI observations to study the inner rims of dusty circumbinary discs around post-AGB binaries.

As part of our continued efforts to improve the ESO Science Archive, we are upgrading the technologies we use. In doing so, the ESO Archive Request Handler (accessible via https://dataportal.eso.org/rh/requests/<userid>/<request_id>) must be decommissioned after a 1-million-requests milestone and 15 years of service. This will happen in the next few weeks but not before September 2026. This upgrade may impact the ways in which users download data from the Archive:

The ELT-GSC1.0 is the first public release of the all-sky reference catalogue that will support guiding and adaptive-optics (AO) operations of ESO's Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) and its first-generation instruments, including MICADO and the MORFEO multi-conjugate AO module.

This new data release provides a deep VLT/MUSE integral-field spectroscopic mosaic of the dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 1427A in the Fornax Cluster. The release consists of a reduced and calibrated MUSE data cube covering the wavelength range 470–935 nm together with an associated white-light image. The dataset combines 67 observations obtained between 2015 and 2023 under ESO programmes 094.B-0612(A), 110.23VM.001, and 111.24R5.001, for a total exposure time of 44.7 ks.

This is the public release of VLT/MUSE integral field spectroscopy observations of a 3'x8' mosaic along the southern major axis of the Local Group spiral galaxy M33, obtained under ESO Programme 109.22XS.001 (PI: G. Cresci). The observations were carried out in seeing-limited wide-field mode (WFM), covering the nominal wavelength range 4750 and 9350 Å .

The final mosaic comprises 24 pointings, corresponding to a total sky coverage of ~24 arcmin² (~1.43 kpc² at the distance of M33), with a spatial sampling of 0.2″ per pixel (≈0.8 pc physical scale). The released product include a fully reduced and flux-calibrated datacube and the emission-line maps published as an ancillary file (category: ANCILLARY.IMAGE).

This release enables spatially resolved studies of ionised gas and stellar feedback at parsec scales in a nearby spiral galaxy.

The dataset has been used to identify and characterise 131 H II regions within the mosaic footprint through dendrogram analysis. The data product and the associated nebular catalogue (published at CDS), including integrated emission-line fluxes and derived physical properties, are presented in Feltre et al. (A&A, 706, A367, 2026).

Users can query and download the data via the ESO Archive Science Portal or through programmatic access.
