The Spectro-Polarimetric High-contrast Exoplanet REsearch
- SPHERE - is the extreme adaptive optics system and coronagraphic facility at the VLT.
Its primary science goal is imaging, low-resolution spectroscopic, and polarimetric characterization of extra-solar planetary systems at optical and near-infrared wavelengths.
SPHERE consists for four arms: the common path infrastructure (CPI) with the AO system and the coronograph,
the infrared integral field spectrograph (IFS), the infrared dual-band imager and spectrograph (IRDIS)
and the Zurich imaging polarimeter (ZIMPOL) operating in the optical. These pages contain information about SPHERE Quality
Control, pipeline processing, and data flow operations.
