General news: NOTE: The Health Check and calChecker services are moved to qcFlow on an instrument by instrument basis. The current pages will not be updated any longer once the move has been finished.
SPHERE news: Note that the current Health Check monitor runs with an incomplete pipeline and an incomplete set of QC1 parameters. QCG can currently not guarantee completeness and significance at the usual level.

This plot

This plot shows the median counts in the brightest of a set of five raw input flats with increasing flux. Here in dual beam imaging mode the QC parameter is monitored for the left and the right channel and for two dual beam filters D_H23 and D_K12.

The bi-model distribution in the right channel of the B_H setup origins from data based on different templates:

In the left channel both setups (coming from two different templates) generate the same number of counts.

New 2018-10-16: The plot shows the counts in one plane of the raw frame cube corresponding to NDIT=1. For NDIT=40, the total counts in the brightest raw flat is 40 times the counts of one plane of the raw frame cube. To achieve a S/N-ratio = 200 in the brightest raw flat, about 1000 ADU (new threshold) must be achieved in a single plane. The S/N ratio in the final master flat is not checked for.

General information

Click on any of the plots to see a close-up version.

The latest date is indicated on top of the plot.

If configured,

  • data points belonging to the latest date are specially marked
  • statistical averages are indicated by a solid line, and thresholds by broken lines
  • outliers are marked by a red asterisk. They are defined as data points outside the threshold lines
  • "aliens" (= data points outside the plot Y limits) are marked by a red arrow ( or )
  • you can download the data for each parameter set if the 'Data downloads' link shows up
