Extracted Observing Reports for 70.B-0257(A): Night information

Telescope: Yepun (UT4)
Instrument: NACO

This is a summary of night log information extracted for all those nights which got observations for your run and which are contained in this data delivery.

This information has been extracted from a database which contains information ingested during the nights. The database is also maintained to reflect e.g. a posteriori updates of the OB grading.

This report is structured into two parts:
- breakdown by nights (this page)
- breakdown by OBs.

This page is an extraction of general night information for all nights with OBs in this data delivery. Usually an OB will produce files but there are exceptions, e.g. when an OB is aborted due to degrading conditions. Therefore there might be entries in this nightlog summary which do not correspond to any of the files contained in your data package.

On the other hand there is a small chance of having OBs or files delivered without nightlog entries. The most likely cause could be operational problems during the night.

2003-06-19 Last night night report has been modified as follow: science time & preparation downtime for NACO technical have been set to 0.0.
I executed (tried) the imaging OBs of Bouy (71.C-0327), so that Lowell has a
complete information about what to ask for (+ nothing else available in the NACO
queue for this HA. Since the AO could close the loop on the object, I decided
to test the spectroscopic OB as well to see if the integration times were also wrong.
When I decided to move onto FORS2, it was to execute Pre-Imaging programs.
Each OB was indicated to last 10min. This would have brought us nicely into the
twilight. Followed by one standard, I could then do flats with FORS2 no problem.
However, it turned out that the execution of 4 of them lasted only 25 min in total!
I then could not continue pre-imaging programs (or others) because of the pointing
limit due to wind + one wind screen blocked which force me to observe at low airmass.
This is why we lost time changing focus again. At this stage I did not think the Vis WFS
will saturate so quickly. (No time lost: it was during twilight).
NACO technical downtime:
the RTC failed and the entire system crashed:
I had to stop & start the software.
