New patch file (95NOVpl2.2) for MIDAS available

Dear MIDAS users,

The patch file patch_pl2.2 (95NOVpl2.2 release of MIDAS) is now 
officially released. It can be retrieved for UNIX and VMS systems 
from our anonymous ftp account.

The patch file has been tested and verified in the following systems:

	SUN/SunOS 4.1.3
	SUN/Solaris 2.5
	SG/IRIX 5.2 
	HP/HP-UX A.09.01
	HP/HP-UX A.10.10
	PC/Linux 1.2.13
	ALPHA/OSF/V3.2
	IBM/R6000 AIX 4.1
	Alpha(AXP) Open VMS V6.1 and V7.0, Fortran V6.3 and DECC V5.3
	VAX Open VMS VMS V6.1, FORTRAN V6.4 and DECC V5.3

95NOVpl2.2 in binary format is available for the following systems:

	SUN/Solaris 2.5
	SG/IRIX 5.2 
	HP/HP-UX A.09.01
	HP/HP-UX A.10.10
	PC/Linux 1.2.13
	ALPHA/OSF/V3.2
	IBM/R6000 AIX 4.1
	(VMS binaries coming soon!)

New or fixed in patch_pl2.2.tar.Z:

   - Fix installation problems for VMS and OPEN/VMS systems.
   - Add -K option in the compilation options for HP
   - Fix problems related to display windows with large image channels
   - Correct problem with COMPUTE/IMA involving images with different start+step
   - Fix problem with copy of char. array descriptors
   - Make SET/FORMAT backwards compatible with 94NOV
   - New function M$VALUE for binary access to MIDAS structures in COMPUTE/KEYW
     (this finally avoids the SET/FORMAT related symbol substitution/expansion)
   - Fix bug in conversion of pixels in the DRAW commands
   - Do not abort in STATIST/IMAGE if empty data interval (due to excess bins)
   - Avoid abortion of procedure when using PLOT/TABLE with no data points
   - Update and reformating of the ESO CCD detector database
   - Bug Fix to correct wrong directory with bad pixel table
   - Bug Fix for creating and writing to intermediate table
   - Speed up FILTER/MEDIAN command
   - Avoid OSY_SPAWN messages from Unix commands
   - Fix OUTTAPE/FITS with basic options for 64 bits machines
   - Bug fix for small number statistics in histogram
   - Correction of PLOT/HIST with log Y axis and 0 or 1 occurances in bins(s)
   - Fix command DEFINE/HOUGH in context ECHELLE
