Create a directory for MIDAS

First create a directory for MIDAS into which you will read the distribution tape (usually named something like /midas, which also can be referred as the MIDASHOME directory). You will need roughly 30 Mbytes to hold sources of MIDAS (no documentation) and, depending on your selection of packages, up to 130 Mbytes for the installed version on SunOS 4.1.3.
