FORS2 has been in operations since April 1, 2000. Due to de-commissioning of FORS1 on March 31, 2009, some of its components (most notably the polarization optics) were integrated into FORS2. Since then, the instrument has been operated in this configuration.

All calibration data from FORS2 pass Data Flow Operations Garching.

Raw data (science and calibrations) can be retrieved using the ESO VLT archive form, while Paranal ambient conditions can be found here.
