IFS spectra position raw frame is acquired in IFU mode and shows arc lamp spectra to determine the identification and position of the spectra. The recipe generates one product with different extensions. Further recipes essentially append more extensions with additional information

resolving power |
sphere_ifs_wave, qc_resolv_power |
The pipeline derives the wavelength solution to each slitlet individually. In case the wavelength calibration fails, a reference wavelength scale is applied. The QC parameter resolving power is the median of all slitlet resolving powers. |
dispersion |
sphere_ifs_wave, qc_med_dispers |
The QC parameter dispersion is the median of all slitlet dispersions used in the pipeline product. It is composed by successfuly calculated values as well as failed and substituted by the reference scale values. |
History
- 2017-12: the new pipeline version v0.28 is put in operation, which provides a wavelength calibrated and cube reconstructed product of the IFS WAVE raw frame. This product wasn't provided with earlier versions of the pipeline. The 2017-12 calibration data cube products are used to check the pipeline v0.28 results. Setting the polynomial fit order=2 and switching the spline interpolation off, the cube product shows a linear wavelength scale of 0.010132 and 0.0191 micron/wavebin for YJ and YJH respectively, while the product header claims values of 0.0113 and 0.0200 micron/wavebin. The resolving power is found to be 42, 40 and 36 for the three YJ prism setup arc lines and 24, 26, 28 and 28 for the four YHJ prism setup arc lines, while the pipeline reports a resolving power (a mean over all arc lines) of 42 and 27 in agreement.
