A picture arises where galaxy formation is fed by inflows of gas from the inter-galactic medium (IGM), counteracted by strong galactic winds, which in concert establish the growth rate of gas and stars within galaxies at all cosmic epochs. These processes can be collectively described as a “baryon cycle". The "Gas Matters” Club would cover the following topics:
