Introduction

This appendix describes the use of commands which have been written to reduce spectra taken with the fiber-linked echelle spectrograph FEROS. Most of the commands, however, are not specific to FEROS so that they can be used to reduce data from other fiber-linked echelle spectrographs as well.

This chapter covers the following items:

• Brief description of FEROS
• General description of the FEROS data reduction software, i.e. command parameters and execution
• Description of the use of the batches for on-line reduction of FEROS data
